MSE exclusive E.on Next Fixed 16months

Hi all,

I wanted to do a comparison with the MSE exclusive E.on Next Fixed 16months v1 through the Cheap Energy Club - but I'Ve not been successful.

I already have an account for the Cheap Energy Club and when I log in and view the results, it says I'm not eligible for the MSE exclusive E.on Next Fixed 16months v1 because apparently I told the system I'm interested in an electric-only comparison (Which I have not, I double checked) and that apparently I already am with the company E.on (which I am not - and have never been with them and the system clearly has me down as Octopus customer).

Am I the only one with this issue and any workarounds?

Thanks!

Did you see a "Please check your details are up to date" popup when you logged in? I imagine you can update your current supplier at any point.
  • yeah I went through current supplier / what you are paying now...and re-clicked everything (even clicked a different supplier entirely before clicking Octopus again), no avail.

I had the same errors @electric2025.

I just ran the search from within the energy club, without clicking on the link first, and looked for that tariff.

It's not cheaper than my Octopus tariffs (gas is fixed, electric is on an old Tracker) and has exit fees, so I'll be staying put.

Didn't factor in the cashback that was mentioned, but the exit fees outweigh the cashback.

I plan on chasing any cheaper fixes that might pop up through the year.

I'm an Octopus customer and I looked at the EON Next 16m fix but I noticed that I can get cheaper gas with Octopus and cheaper electric with Fuse Energy so I'm going down that route. If you don't mind having separate suppliers you might want to check that out. I'm in Eastern region so, obviously, prices and comparisons may not be the same for other regions

Are you clicking, the blue button, "save & see results" at the bottom.

I know it used to be quite annoying months ago, to get it to save.

Hi @electric2025 - I've asked our utilities team and they suggest that if you  go into the “My Account” section of Cheap Energy Club, you should be able to edit your energy supplier and whether you want gas/elec/dual-fuel.

Once this is set correctly, you should get the right results from the comparison.

I have the same issue, ie I am told that I can’t have the tariff as I might have asked for electricity only or am a customer.  My account is fully up to date and I’ve been with octopus for a long time and dual fuel since nationalisation! @mse James  is there a fix for this please?

I tried to apply through the cheap energy club, but I’m getting the same error message that others have received.  Everything is up to date, I can’t change any of my information, but it just doesn’t work.  Can MSE please look at this? Has anyone managed a workaround? I’ve been using the club to switch for many years now and this is the first time I’ve hit a problem.
