Pet insurance for behavioural referal

Hi, I’ve been with my pets insurer, Sainsbury’s bank, since I had him. He started to show signs of a behavioural issue a few months after the policy started and i was referred to a behaviourist by my vet. This had limited success but I have recently been recommend a behaviourist by someone who has been dealing with similar issues and know my vet would refer again as his behaviour is quite extreme (non-aggressive) I didn’t claim for the 1st behaviourist but would like to claim for the 2nd, however, I’m wandering whether because he has been to a behaviourist before this won’t be covered.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Have you been allowing the policy to naturally renew each year or have you been cancelling and buying again as a new customer?

Do you have max time, max limit or lifetime cover?
  • It’s a lifetime cover policy, that renews each year, I’ve never claimed on it previously.
