Pulse v Barclaycard

in Credit cards
I have used my Pulse credit card for Amazon and other purchases for some years. Amazon offered me the Barclaycard which I obtained. I cannot work out which is better so would appreciate advice. I am not a Prime user.

IMO, it's primarily down to the cashback rates. From memory (I no longer have a Pulse card), Pulse offers cashback at 0.25% on everything. Their cashback is paid as a credit on your statement.Amazon Barclaycard gives 1% on Amazon spending and 0.5% on non-Amazon spending for the first year, dropping to 0.25% thereafter. In addition, you can get £20 up front (I can't remember whether this is on acceptance or on card activation). So Amazon Barclaycard is better for cashback, especially in the first year. Cashback is paid in the form of Amazon vouchers. In addition, I found that I got a higher credit limit on my Amazon Barclaycard than I had on my Pulse card. You'll find that you're better off putting everything on the Amazon Barclaycard for the first year. Thereafter,it'll still be better putting your Amazon spending on it, but non-Amazon spending will be neutral between the two cards.1

PS - in case you haven't already noticed, Barclaycard doesn't pay your cashback automatically. You need to keep an eye on it in the app on your phone. When it reaches £5 (or a multiple of that), you need to tell Barclaycard to send it to Amazon. It'll then take Amazon up to a couple of hours to credit the gift voucher to your account.
