Marantz app on Android

We have a Marantz M-CR611 https://www.marantz.com/en-gb/product/archive-network-audio-players/m-cr611/810151.html

It uses V Tuner for 'internet radio' who no longer support BBC stations!

We have connected an old Moto G 7 plus running Android 10 via bluetooth and it works fine - job done.

On my current Moto G 31 (Android 12) I have the Marantz Hi-Fi Remote but sadly when I search the Play Store on the older phone, the Marantz app isn't there.

I'm sure it was there when the G7 was my main phone a couple of years ago.

Do we think it just wont run on Android 10 any longer or ???

It says it needs Android 5.0 or later, so the G7 with Android 10 should be OK. Also it hasn't been updated since 2020, so there haven't been any recent changes.

If you go to the link using the browser on your G7, does the phone take you automatically to the correct page in the Play Store app?

You need a recent internet radio to support BBC, as they closed their Shoutcast service (in the UK, you can still get World Service if you aren't using a UK IP address) and switched to HLS & DASH, which spy on you enable them to better gauge how and where their content is listened to. (Nasty Shoutcast was pretty much anonymous, and that Won't Do)

Sorry, missed your message ....

The phone is with the Marantz but I'm not there currently.

However, when I log into my G account on the PC, it says

<<This app is not available for your device>>  🤷‍♂️

Hmm, that's odd!

You could try loading it from the APK, ignoring the Play store, but I'd attempt to find out why the Play store objects before trying that.

I've got an Amazon Fire tablet. They use the Amazon app store rather than the Google one, but Amazon's store is a bit limited so I need to get some of my apps from elsewhere. The easiest way I've found is to download the APK installer files directly then run them on my tablet to install the app.

As the Marantz app works on your other phone, you might be able to extract the APK from there rather than looking for alternative app stores.
