Recurring Payments - Buyer Beware !

We all know that by setting up a Direct Debit or Standing Order we are committing to recurring payments. However, I was not aware that by giving Debit or Credit card details a company or organisation can claim recurring payments.
I recently made a membership payment to Reform. I realised the payment had gone through twice. I tried to contact them immediately. No response. I went to my bank and they said to contact the organisation. I have tried by phone and numerous emails. No response. The bank also informed me that I had inadvertently given Reform permission to take recurring payments. The only way to cancel is by contacting them. But this is impossible as they ignore calls. It looks as though the only way to prevent future payments being taken is to go through the hassle of closing that account and opening a new one. Buyer beware !

Your bank can stop an RP.
They are not telling you the truth

Just consider the second payment a donation to Reform, thus enabling them to further their valuable work.
They'll need the cash since it looks like Elon has changed his mind (again).0 -
