Morning everyone thanks for starting us all off Gers it’s so dark here I’m off out to a cleaning job in a minute don’t feel like it when it’s so dark but hopefully it will get better as the day goes on we are meant to have a chilly weekend. Taff you mentioned the slug eyebrows yesterday I know what you mean but I have a under active thyroid and years ago before been diagnosed I started to lose my hair in handful’s which included my eyebrows and one is very sparse and the other is non existent I’ve been to a few places with no joy they either jet black no shape or to thick I end up looking like a clown but the girl who does them now is brilliant she does them thin with a nice shape and not to dark they just seem to frame my face although I always wore make up it’s rare now so I look alive at least when I go out .not a lot else happening here I must clean the kitchen floor again when I come back hubby is having sausage and something tonight I’m having fish must dash . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Good morning Gers and all who follow.
Friday again, it seems like only yesterday was Monday. Still dark outside but all is quiet and still. Yesterday was a glorious sunny day once the fog went, still chilly only 4degrees, but the sun made up for it.
Today I need to post my dgd's birthday card, (she'll be 13 towards the end of the month). I send it early as my Dd will then put our birthday message inside in braille, so dgd can read it. She has asked for money for her birthday as she has discovered Primani and wants to go shopping.
Apart from the walk to the post box, a 2 mile round trip, no other plans for today, I did the washing yesterday so not much left. Dinner tonight may be steak and ale pie for him, and spag bol for me all from the freezer.
Carolbee, have a great holiday.
Have a good day all, hugs to our poorlies and sad, take care.14 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Too dark to see what's happening out there but the forecast is to remain dry, with little in the way of sun after a few nice days/
At the start of the new year I made a concerted effort to reduce all the leftovers and other bits and pieces stored in the freezer before stocking up. I am at last seeing a difference and don't need to wade through numerous little bags and packs until I find what I am looking for. Still a little way to go but I am getting there.
Today's excitement is the Friday Tidy but I did the bathroom and kitchen yesterday so that gave me a head start. I even cleaned the dishwasher filter (I hate that job!) but it was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. I have promised myself I will keep up to it more regularly.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Yes, @Izzie, it's very dark outside, in contrast to when I woke for a wee at 3.30am. when the full moon was flooding everywhere with light. The pool session yesterday was very good, I really enjoy it all apart from the final 10 minutes so I usually skip the more passive stuff and get into the private shower for a good old scrub! The other day I was intrigued by the mention of Dutch felt clogs in a national newspaper. This mention said that they were the most comfortable 'slippers' by far so, being nosy, I immediately ordered a pair from the supplier in Cambridge. The clogs arrived yesterday and, by golly, they are delightful. A bit weird at first but I will wear them with joy. Now I'm eyeing up the sheepskin lined pair.My plans for today are to head up to Oban as I have a birthday present to buy. One of my Glasgow friends is going to spend her birthday in Inveraray so we're meeting up for lunch. I'm looking forward to it, now need to prepare properly. PS in EDIT - birthday lunch is on Sunday.Apart from that there is nothing on the Gers-agenda.Big hugs to all, keep warm and safe.14

Morning all
It seems to be misty for at least part of every day so for this year - not my favourite type of weather. It was cold and icy first thing yesterday but some sun made a couple of hours outside possible.Took down a couple of bird boxes, the power company are going to be pollarding the trees and I didn’t want the birds to start nesting and then be disturbed. They’ll have to find alternative accommodation this year! Also managed to cut some wood for my craft projects though kneeling on a damp drive using the mitre saw wasn’t the most comfortable but I was too lazy to get the bench out. Aching today!Today I need a post office visit and will take Bdog to try on a new harness.Gers - have a great lunch and safe travels
Izzy - have a good day
Remmie - that’s a great idea that your DD can make the card more personalised and accessible with Braille,12 -
Good morning. I'm late this morning, I've had a bad night.
Remmie, my dg d is 12 at the weekend, and I've given her money, she can buy what she wants.
Have a lovely holiday Carolbee.
TA, I have a lot of little bags and packets in the freezer as well, and am making headway with using things, I'm determined to use things up - sometimes Dh and me have different meals - it uses stuff up more quickly.
Enjoy your trip to Oban Gers, we visited there once when we were working our way up the west coast in the motorhome. We thought it was a lovely place. We also stayed on Skye for a few days, and it rained and rained. I felt sorry for the people in tents, with their wet towels flapping off the guy ropes!
Not much happening today, except a friend visiting this evening, ( not last night as I said yesterday, I've been a day ahead of myself all week).
Hugs to those that need them, take care folks.

Morning, thanks Gers.Had to look up the Dutch slippers as I'd never heard of them. I got some new slippers a couple of months back that are a bit clog like -suede with a fur lining, and a thick sole, made by Skec**rs, and I love them, sturdy enough to go outside to feed the birds or put the bins out.The frost from last night had gone this morning, thankfully. No real plans for today. I do need to change my library books at some point before Monday, but I can always renew online to avoid a fine.I've taken some pork steaks out for tea, with the addition of a few pigs in blankets ( still got quite a few in the freezer from C'mas)Enjoy your hols CarolB.Have a good day,& poodles get well soon.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. It's a bit nippy this morning and the ground looks damp, there was probably some early morning mist, but we should get up to the dizzy heights of 8 C later with sunny intervals.
The surveyor came yesterday afternoon, a young lady, who seemed very knowledgeable, and she thinks the water ingress is coming from two sources! There's an action plan in place that will take some time but I feel more confident of a successful result than before.
I made the sausage rolls as planned, 6 large ones in all, but didn't get around to cleaning the skirting boards - maybe today.Instead, I was sidetracked into going through my fabric stash. I'm keeping some that I know I'll definitely use but have bagged up most of it for the CS. I'll have to call on DS's carservices again to get it out of the house but I'll not be tempted to retrieve any in the meantime.
Our bins haven't been emptied since well before Xmas (holidays, snow etc) so I was pleased to see a collection of sorts yesterday. The excess around and piled on top of the bins has been taken away so the bin yards at least look tidier and I live in hope we'll get an emergency collection to empty the bins, either today or tomorrow.
Today's plans are the usual Friday ones - banking/other admin and meal plan for next week. After that, who knows?
@IzzyBee - Eyebrows are strange things! I'm glad you've found someone who makes them look good.
@remmie - It's lovely that your DGD will be able to read her card and I hope she enjoys her shopping trip.
@TA - I don't have a dishwasher but you've reminded me the filter on my washing machine is due for a clean. Another thing added to the To Do list.
@Gers - I've not heard of Dutch felt clogs/slippers either but they do look comfortable. Good luck with the hunt for a birthday present.
Right, time to get a move on. Best wishes to all for a good day, hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Rosy,
How on earth did you have left over pigs in blankets. I made 40 for 6 of us, I only had 1 and the children don't have them and they were all gone on boxing day.
We've been busy this week again. Yesterday was a Nate day, it was so misty and gloomy we took him to a soft play in the morning because we couldn't go out.
Laura has her stitches out this morning she's fine unless she overdoes things which is ironic because she's always nagging Steve not to overdo.
I'm looking forward to having a quieter weekend and Brian is slated to do the cooking on Sunday so I'll try to get a decent rest.
I'm sorry my posts are so rubbish ATM.
Hugs to all the poorly people.12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x The Dutch slippers sound interesting - I will have a look myself....
We managed 3 hours in the garden yesterday. I was clearing leaves from some of the beds around the edge of the house and DH lopped off a branch that was overhanging the patio and completely in the way. He managed to slice his hand whilst doing it, because why would anyone wear gloves??!! Nurse Coxy came to the rescue but boy did it bleed. We were second in the pub quiz to the same team last night. Need to up our game for next month!
Today we are meeting the ILs for a coffee then I'm off to my DSis's to plan the final part of our hike in April. I'm then picking Mum up from her craft group as the busses here are solely for school children from 3pm-5pm. She gets a lift part way there from her friend but not back again.
Steak and chips for dinner tonight which I'm really looking forward to.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy
