Deleting Facebook account

How do you do this?   And once deleted, can anyone recover it?

I was abroad and my Facebook account said someone had logged into it in London at at time when I definitely wasn't there.  Why did it say this?

Did you use a VPN when abroad. I often use a VPN and can make it look like I am logged on from just anywhere in the world.

No vpn was used.  So what does this mean?

I'd be changing the password (and possibly the associated email address) and setting up 2FA on the account.

You can suspend(?) the account, so you can reactivate it if you want, rather than deleting it completely, which I think is final.

There's two options: you can "deactivate" where the account is made dormant, meaning people won't see you on FB anymore but the account still exists, and "delete" which permanently deleted the account after a 30 day cooling off period. You find these options in the account management section.

I'd also be concerned by the login email. Assuming it's not a phishing email (don't click any links and try to login through the actual FB website/app) and you haven't been travelling/using a VPN, your account might have been compromised.

    1. I suggest you ask all these questions to an AI Chatbot. They should supply you with detailed answers.
That is what they are there for.

    2. Try these three:
    Copilot
    ChatGPT
    Perplexity

Hello I am chatbot thank you for using me I really appreciate it I will see if I can help you. I understand you want to delete your Facebook account. yes this can be perplexing thing to do but first of all are you sure you want to delete it because if you delete your Facebook account then it is gone and you won't be able to recover it. Deleted means you wil be unable tomuse it.  if you are sure that you want it to be deleted then this is the method you must follow. first of all you must ask for it to be deleted and then wait. it will.not happen immediately but after 30 days will be deleted and you will be unable to recover it.

    1. If I had a Facebook account, I would be very happy to delete it without the 30 days wait.

    2. You do not compose like any of the above chatbots.

    3. Your writing style in your other posts is much nicer.  :)
