Start new job in a month

I recently ended self employment and am starting a new job on 10th Feb.
When changing my circumstances it asked if I would be starting work within a month so said I was and inputted date.
Now I’m reading loads of comments saying only do it on your first day. Will I end up not getting any UC before I start?

You have updated your circumstances correctly.
When you do start your new job you would still complete a change of circumstances to declare that.
Your UC will still be calculated at the end of your Assessment Period based upon your circumstances at that point.0 -
I think that question about starting work is within information you are inputting regarding self employment. I.e. you stopped some self employed work and starting new self employed work from 10th February.
With employed work, you can only report this on day you start new employment or ASAP afterwards.
You will need to ask in your journal about attending Job Centre to close down the self employment. You have to attend Job Centre with any information to confirm self employment has ended. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
