I regularly get those ads pop up whenever I go onto youtube. Obviously a scam regarding the claims made.
I did find a youtube of a chap who had got one out of interest, and he had run various tests that proved that the claims made in the adverts were false...(no great surprise really...).

This is why I love adblockers.  I never see the adverts.

Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Although it would be <chef's kiss> to see an advert for one of those heaters at the start/middle/end of a video that debunks them.

I've not managed to block adverts within Youtube videos, what do you use?

Disconnect and Ublock Origin do the business for me.

Another vote for Ublock and use DDG as my browser.

On iPhone the Adblock Pro extension on Safari does the trick.

Brave browser. Everything comes as standard, it's built to dodge ads. It's also based on the same underlying code as Chrome. Never seen a youtube video and didn't have to install extensions etc to achieve this.

Thanks. I normally use an Android tablet and don't mind having a different browser for Youtube. All my other ad blocking is at the network level via Next DNS, but that doesn't distinguish between Youtube playing a video or playingan advert.
  • Thank you all for all your very helpful comments/advice.
I will not be buying an extra heater, & will continue to use my wool blanket, sheepskin slippers & the occasional cat on lap to keep warm.
    Cheers

Cats can also make a very effective hot water bottle substitute :)
Last one I had would curl up at the bottom of the bed under the duvet purring & dribbling through the night. Kept my feet warm, not so keen on the soggy patch. Current furball will occasionally curl up beside me under the duvet for an hour or so (no dribbles).
