Bank Account - CIFAS/CREDIT REPORT

I’ve applied for every single bank account in the UK, yet I’ve been rejected even for a basic account. I’ve submitted a subject request form to CIFAS to inquire about any information they may have on my credit report. My credit score is poor, but I’m unaware of the specific issues that are preventing me from getting a bank account. I’m at a loss and would greatly appreciate any suggestions or guidance you may have.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, please share your experiences and suggestions.

You'll need to wait and see what CIFAS holds about you before reaching any conclusions and establishing if anything can be done, but just to be clear, CIFAS isn't actually related to credit reports as such, it's an anti-fraud database used across the industry, although they do feed certain data to credit agencies.

If you haven't already done so, it would be a good idea to go sign up to the three main Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs) and go through your credit reports to see if there is anything on there regarding defaults etc:

    Hope this helps

Reassuring that there's no CIFAS marker, but in terms of isolating what is causing so many rejections, you might try another anti-fraud database, National Hunter, which identifies anomalies between applications:
