Hi thanks for that and that’s what B&Q have advised but at no point in the basket and checkout with B&Q was I aware or warned o was entering into a contract with a 3rd party?
I’m going to pursue getting B&Q to deal with it. Thanks0 -
As per the link it clearly says sold by R&C so you are wasting your time going to B&QDODIY2015 said:Hi thanks for that and that’s what B&Q have advised but at no point in the basket and checkout with B&Q was I aware or warned o was entering into a contract with a 3rd party?

More than that I think. You have identified the risk, in fact you've caused it, what if there is an incident now it'll be your fault. Eek.DODIY2015 said:Hi, thanks for all of the comments, I’ve bout used a forum for advice before so I’m very impressed with the quick responses.
The reason for return is the ladder is too big and I can’t even get it into my flat. Hence I would have refused delivery if the courier had knocked and I’d been given the opportunity.
The B&Q supplier, R&C construction, did indeed flatly reply, ‘we don’t accept returns’
It’s now in the communal hallway of my flat which is clearly a health & safety/ fire hazard so I need to get it collected ASAP!I’m now pursuing my complaint with B&Q as that’s the site I purchased from.
its good to know I can return and have consumer rights to back me up.0 -
Is it these people R & C Components
Here is their "Returns policy" (you need to scroll down) Returns - R & C Components
Their T&Cs also say
"14 Day RefundIf you decide you no longer require or want the items, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return. You then have 14 days to get the item back to us. The goods must be in the original packaging, unused and in resalable condition. Any costs involved in the returning of unwanted goods must be paid by you. Please contact us at returns@rchull.com for a returns form."
Terms and Conditions - R & C Components (again you need to scroll down)
[I'm not saying the info they provide complies with the CCRs, but they do obviously accept returns]

As above, the seller is clearly stated immediately under the product name - the dimensions are also detailed on the listing so the size would also have been clearly shown prior to ordering, rather than waiting until delivery to realise that it's big....1

I don't think they have given any idea of how much it would cost to return a 12 rung ladder...
Basically state this and if they didn't tell you the cost of return the seller will have to pay that as well.Alderbank said:you must make it clear to the seller that you are cancelling the contract under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
If you get no joy from the seller try the B&Q CEO email on the CEO email website.0 -
There's no point. you need to pursue the people I linked to a few posts ago - assuming that is who you bought from. (You didn't buy from B&Q, you bought through B&Q)DODIY2015 said:Hi thanks for that and that’s what B&Q have advised but at no point in the basket and checkout with B&Q was I aware or warned o was entering into a contract with a 3rd party?

Wouldn’t surprise me, crazy these companies open themselves to so much risk over a template bit of text…Okell said:

I also find it funny that anyone would order a ladder without checking the measurements.2
