Being billed by a small business & not sure what I'm being asked

    Lol, thank you everyone, just for clarification - I have no husband, the coach is saying she'll bill me via her husband's business rather than her own. 

    From the replies so far, this does sound like some sort of tax dodge that is, at least, unethical if not illegal?
    yes it is an illegal tax dodge designed to "save" you money whilst making sure she gets 20% more money than she should. Obviously the coach is the one perpetrating it, but as you would be aware of the reason you would be paying husband's unregistered business instead of the coach's, then you may be help at least "complicit" in the tax fraud.

    I know nothing about coaching, but if the paperwork shows payment to the husband what is the nature of that business, ie, why would you be paying it?
    If something happens to you (injury?) would you be able to prove you were a customer of the coach not the husband given invoices and payments are not the coach's? Would you thus be able to claim on the coach's insurance - if such cover applies for coaching?
