Hi! Newbie here and looking for some advice/guidance
I have booked a weekend away using the Opodo Prime app, found a reasonable deal and booked….agreed to a free trial and that I would be billed after 28 days if I didn’t cancel
i received an email 24 hours later stating that you can only ever have one free trial and that I had apparently had one in April 2023, I don’t recall this
Opodo Prime have taken a full years subscription of £89.99 from my bank account without my agreeing to this, where do I stand?
I have tried to call but the number rings out, have also emailed and waiting for a response
I feel such a fool for making this mistake and £89…. would have gone towards spending money whilst away. The saving was only £35 using them
Thanks for your time and any comments

I have checked and yes I did
I totally forgot tbh, but when I registered it didn’t say then have you registered before etc….it accepted everything and then the next day they took £89 from my account
i guess I have to accept my stupidity this time, there was no warning etc
thank you for your reply0 -
Please be aware of this company.as there practices are border line criminal.my first experience with Opodo prime, took an unauthorised payment for the subscription.i immediately rang them and they agreed that it was unauthorised.so they gave me as a gesture of good will.2 x free flight cancellations and also an £80 discount.i booked long haul flights, but when i came to cancel the flight they would not give any kind of refund.anyway weeks later the airline cancelled my flight.when i rang Opodo prime they wanted £73 deducted from the price.i contacted the airline directly and they informed me if i had booked direct with them they would have given me a full refund.so just to summarise they have now got away with taking 2 payments.to be honest at this stage i will feel lucky to get any kind of refund.please be made aware that this company have bad practices and will continue to take both your money and more importantly your time.please avoid at all costs!!!!!0

I have also fallen foul of 'inadvertently' signing up to Opodo, only realising when a £89.99 'payment pending' popped up on my account, yesterday evening. The payment was made before I could cancel, so I phoned Opodo today and explaining my signing up was an error, that I am a pensioner living on my own and no one in the family were likely to be able to benefit from my membership. Well, after several different offers from the telephone desk, (e.g. Credit against future bookings, partial refund 50%,) they confirmed cancellation and a full refund in 72 hours! Obviously, I will need to check that the payment gets made, but I am very hopeful. I am normally very careful when filling out forms on-line, so feel that some of Opodo's communications were likely to have been deliberately opaque, or difficult.0

The Opodo Prime membership is an absolute trap! While booking a hotel for the first time ever with Opodo, they gave me an option of signing up for FREE prime membership for 15 days. The very NEXT DAY they charged me £90! When I called them, they said I was not eligible for free trial as in the past I'd been a PAYING prime member of their SISTER company eDreams (not even opodo prime or trial member)! They had my email address while booking so if I was not eligible, why did they not refuse me the free trial, instead of charging me the next day? When I asked to cancel and refund, they refused saying there was a fine print in T&Cs that eDreams and Opodo are sister companies etc. They also said that because of the prime trial I got a £300+ discount, which is a falsely inflated price because other major travel sites were showing the same hotel for only £10 more, without any paid membership or trials.Absolute Scammers!0

If the headline offer on the web site is untrue, then no weasel wording in the T&Cs can overrtide that.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
