Euro Car Parks PCN - Northern Ireland - Parking was paid for

Hi,

A relative has received a PCN as the keeper of the vehicle stating that no valid pay and display ticket was purchased. However, the relative knows that the parking fee was paid covering the duration of the alleged contravention by an occupant of the vehicle. Evidence of payment can be provided in the form of a dated/timed phone screenshot showing the transaction details from a banking app. The date/time of this transaction is very shortly after the start time stated on the PCN. The relative no longer has the physical ticket, but suspects that the reg number was either entered incorrectly or not entered at all by the individual who paid the parking.

Note that this was in Northern Ireland so we know the keeper doesn't have to name the driver etc.

How should my relative proceed? Should they appeal and if so, how? They know not to name the driver and will not do so.

Thanks.
Jim.

    Ignore completely.

You are untouchable in NI - except there is one firm that tries claims there. That NI litigating firm is NOT and never will be ECP!

    Nothing will happen.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Thanks for the replies.

So, even though proof of payment can be provided would the appeal be refused then. I thought that might have been worth trying just to put it to bed.

I suppose even if it did get to court, the evidence could be produced to show it was paid. I realise the advice is it’ll never get that far anyway.

My missus did get one before (mother-in-law didn’t put her disabled badge on the dashboard) and after 2, maybe 3 years of letters they gave up.

Should the KEEPER be minded to respond, as KEEPER,  with proof of payment,  that is their choice

    But

We always recommend ignore ( no contact whatsoever   )  as the correct option for Northern Ireland,  but do keep copies of all paperwork and receipts anyway,  for a minimum of 5 years

There's no point doing anything except updating the scammer is you move house, just so you see all the letters. They make good hamster bedding.
