Home Insurance - 2 flats under one freehold

That's really interesting, I was trying to find something like this. Thank you! However, I used it for quoting and it says there that they only provide cover for commercial use, even though they have an option to select 'as a homeowner'. Might be that we need to change the legal set up so the property is owned by a company, but that would likely mean we can't then be considered under the Flood Re scheme any more. Not sure we want to go that route.

@poseidon1 FloodFlash confirmed to me via email that they would accept freeholder as the policyholder, even though we live in one of the flats as leaseholders.

That is welcome news to hear. My particularly flat would not have had an issue with FloodFlash, since our freehold is held by a limited company of which we are all shareholders. In any event our residence can get normal cover inclusive of flood, its only my commercial investment property that has the problem.
Nonetheless, the fact that FloodFlash will look at flats where the Freehold is held outside a corporate mantle may well prove useful others, so grateful for you coming back to confirm.
