ebay account suspended and funds permanently on hold?

hi all, first time on here. I'm after some help and clarification on what I can do to have my remaining funds on hold withdrawn to my account? for a bit of backstory and base, my account was restricted then subsequently banned within 2 days, about 6 months a go. I sold a graphics card on there to make a bit of money, buyer had no issues with anything and was happy. I tried contacting eBay soon after the ban was instated, and was told it could be 170 days before I receive the money. however, it has been 200-something days and no movement. I then tried again today to see if there was any possibility, but was told at the end of the conversation after me asking 'so I will never get my money back?', 'yes'. so it looks like my money is permanently on hold. I could greatly do with some help, as its a decent sum that could help me out as a uni student.

thank you in advance.

What was the reason for the ban? Usually if it is for an infringement of rules the funds are released within 180 days , Did you ever manage to set up your bank details? - I ask that as if funds were released then they would have needed to be able to send the funds somewhere.

There has to be a reason that the hold has gone on so long, the original MCo11 should have stated what the breach was. You weren't by chance under 18 when you sold the item as you mention you are now Uni Student? Is it a complete ban or a sellers ban? - Are you able to purchase still?

The hold is usually 180 ish days the reason its so long is incase of chargebacks etc to the account. The only other thing I can think of is that the IP address which ebay can link may have been banned say for perhaps another family member etc in the property, or halls of residence etc.

thank you for the reply, yes I did set up my bank details, and to my knowledge they are up to date. I've had no messages or anything to say they need updating, so I cant begin to think what else I could do verification wise with my account not being a functioning one.

thank you for the thoughts. oddly, I was never given a reason, only that 'it was in the interest of eBay's safety' that my account had been irreversibly banned. you mention my age, which is something I considered into the outcome of my account. I had the account since I was 17, however it wan not until well after I turned 18 I started selling some items I fixed up, as i could therefore use proper bank accounts etc, so no illegal contract- binding sales as such happened until it was legal. I will add that i had this account for nearly 6 years before it got banned, with no prior messages or anything to say that things needed verifying etc.

Had you just moved into a new address? I don't know whether they still do, but Ebay used to ban addresses where previous discretions have happened.

not from my end, when it was banned it was at the same address i first created the account, which was my home address. it was banned way before i moved out, so i wouldn't think it was that, but thank you for the suggestion.

Hi,  I was also banned from my account? Buyers have no issues with anything and are happy. I tried contacting eBay soon after the ban was instated, and was told it could be 170 or more before it is reviewed. They won't give a valid reason for the ban and give a general wishy-washy reason.  I have contacted them several times and they end the conversation when it does not go there way.
