My Toshiba tells me it is 11 and I still use it daily. The battery is long since knackered and I upgraded the RAM and hard drive to SSD but otherwise is fully original.

unfortunately the end of support for windows 10 is likely to see the end of its life but I might try upgrading to windows 11. Just to see what happens.
No reason to stop using Win 10 O/S  just because support is being stopped by Microsoft.

Pragmatic option for OP is to take to a local PC repair shop & see if they will replace hinge.

i'm not sure that's good advice. Will Microsoft continue to issue patches for security updates?

14 October 2025 is when they will stop doing patches... normally there is an option for corporates to pay for longer support but even that has its limits.

Why. Many people still using old windows version with no problems. You just need to be aware & keep anti virus up to date.

I'm sorry but I don't agree that's safe advice. Microsoft release security patches which an anti virus will not protect you from.

It all depends on your approach to risk management. 🤷‍♀️
