Yeah, @ellen_vannin you might be right, I am just still learning with this whole bank transfer thing. That said, I’ve checked the new account this morning and both direct debits are showing so maybe their cancellation notice also didn’t reach them in time!🤞I guess only time will tell.

I also woke up to the £3.50 money from ebay hitting the account, plus £5 Rewards bonus from my current account, so another £8.50 paid off the overdraft and I am now at £65.22 or 13/100  £5’s. Still a long way to go but this Friday is my ‘non working day’ from day job, now renamed ‘ebay day’. I am hoping to really up the number of things I have listed so hopefully sales should increase too. I might even venture onto Vinted to start selling some of the old clothes.

Oh and I must also mention my wonderful FWH from Olio who thought of me left out some more bagels (3 packs for dd2 who was made up and popped them in her freezer section), and more mushrooms and lettuce too. I often replace meat in recipes for mushrooms and I basically love them so more is always welcome!

Good start to the day. The coffee is even still warm!

Opened eyes… immediately check MBNA credit limit. Still the same limit as yesterday, no increase showing. 😞 Now, I am assuming these things just get applied at midnight right? I’ve never really paid this much attention before so I have no idea. I am going to wait until the day is completely over to completely give up all hope since they equally haven’t sent me a letter saying the increase will not be applied, but, at the same time, I am mentally brushing myself off and preparing to just accept it is what it is.

With or without it, I WILL clear this debt! 💪

I found my increase happened when I got my next monthly statement so maybe you need to wait for the next statement to see if you've got the increase.

There, ….. Doesn’t that feel better?

It looks like you have had a couple of days worthy of double dog-poop bags.

Firstly, your run-in with EDF - that is in my top 5 of things that really grind my gears. Firstly, I can’t stand the old “press 1, if you…”

Press 1 If you wish to scratch your backside….

Press 2 If you are thinking of scratching your backside in the future…

Press 3 If you have previously scratched your backside, and now regret doing so….

If you are thinking of scratching someone else’s backside, please hang up and dial 999

For all other options, please hold whilst we try to connect you, or once the few staff we do have, have finished their toilet break which they have been desperate for for the last 2 hours…..

Your call is important to us…..

Ok, so maybe I should just admit that a lot of the EDF pain was self inflicted. I should have just let them take the money from the wrong account and moved the money. But that would make it my fault. It’s more comfortable to believe it’s EDF’s silly systems…

Maybe I am just a teeny bit to blame. 😞

But!! - what is this??? Acceptance of “blame”???

We do not do “blame”, …. Not in PhantasyPhorumLand.

At the very least we might stretch to “Diminished Responsibility” at worst “The voices in my head made me do it!! {maniacal cackle}”, but never “blame” 😂

Seriously, though - I think I know what it is you are going through, what with the EDF saga & MBNA this morning. It’s like everyone around you (including energy companies, banks & lending establishments) is running through treacle in providing the end result you are after. You can see clearly in your mind’s eye where you want to get to, because you have spent the last month and half cleverly planning it. The trouble is your mind has now hit the old >> fast forward button on the remote to skip the adverts and racing along at hyper speed to get there. Whereas, MBNA are still playing the adverts telling you about a Dolmio bed (beds made out of pasta sauce!! 🤔  - what will they think of next!).

This is where the breathing exercise above will stand you in good stead. Might be a good idea, just to give it another go now - go on treat yourself. Give yourself a L’Oreal moment…. Because you’re worth it ☺️
