UKPC charge advice - parked on bay line

My wife has received a £100 fine for not being completely within the lines at a retail park in Exeter from UK Parking Control. Based on what I'd read in some of these forums, we decided to ignore it. We've now received the threatagram for £170 or they will pass it on to a debt collector. I must admit, the letters do make me nervous.
From what I read, we should now wait for a letter of claim?
Any support would be extremely welcomed.0 -
Correct, ignore the powerless debt collectors letters and wait for the Letter of Claim1

Please start a new thread and show that letter. This new example is useful for consumer evidence for the Government's public consultation because (since the BPA dropped the ever-present requirement for two reminder letters first) what UKPC are now doing is adding the £70 for their own profit on the stroke of day 28, with a threat of debt collectors.Stevenage36 said:My wife has received a £100 fine for not being completely within the lines at a retail park in Exeter from UK Parking Control. What's the point of the letter and what's the purpose of the swiftly added £70 then?!

Unsurprisingly I lost the poopla appeal. Thought I had a decent case but it’s clear that it is no more than a kangaroo court!
I have recently moved house and I’ve got a redirect on mail for now but how best do I inform them of my address change?2 -
Email the parking firm's DPO (see their data privacy webpage).Wel2k said:Unsurprisingly I lost the poopla appeal. Thought I had a decent case but it’s clear that it is no more than a kangaroo court!

And please post the POPLA decision in the thread of that name at the top of the forum but add the name of the parking firm to the post & add at least TEN PARAGRAPH BREAKS to break up the decision. Not just a wall of text or the devisions end up unreadable on that thread.
Then: FIGHTBACK ALERT:Please do the government's Public Consultation. We need every poster to complete this vital survey before the deadline next week.
See this thread:
We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.
I've written some guidance to help focus new posters on the issues. I've covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.
Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam over 18 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.
CLOSES ON FRIDAY 26th SEPTEMBER.
