My wife has received a £100 fine for not being completely within the lines at a retail park in Exeter from UK Parking Control. Based on what I'd read in some of these forums, we decided to ignore it. We've now received the threatagram for £170 or they will pass it on to a debt collector. I must admit, the letters do make me nervous.

From what I read, we should now wait for a letter of claim?

Any support would be extremely welcomed.

Please start a new thread and show that letter. This new example is useful for consumer evidence for the Government's public consultation because (since the BPA dropped the ever-present requirement for two reminder letters first) what UKPC are now doing is adding the £70 for their own profit on the stroke of day 28, with a threat of debt collectors.

What's the point of the letter and what's the purpose of the swiftly added £70 then?!

NEW THREAD PLEASE WITH A PHOTO OF BOTH SIDES OF THIS LETTER WITH ALL DATES SHOWING.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
