Can an airbag be disconnected in a 'conforming' way?

    An airbag that is switched off is not a defect.
    But: obviously missing or obviously inoperative is a 'major' fail.
    And there's the rub! The theory is that it would be 'switched off' via the ECU.
    There's a specialist co nearby who now focus on car electronics, so I'll suggest they have a chat down there if the repair quote comes back silly.
