Some potentially useful anecdotal info for fellow stoozers. It's a bit odd, seems like something flipped on my credit report/record (or the market!).

I have a very large stoozing pot already, but I periodically run eligibility for new deals when old ones are heading to close, for example I have 8k on Nationwide ending next month.

Anyway, I got a flood of new offers, pre approved on the latest run. Even better, the offers are really strong NatWest 12 months no fee (9k), and Tesco 0.99% for 18 months (4k). There were longer terms on offer for the same cards, but higher fees. Had other decent offers as well, but not pre approved so just went for those two.

I've also had a run of offers following a period of 'not eligible' for anything. Was literally like a switch, one week no-one would lend me anything, the next my current cards all had offers and new cards were saying yes.

Exactly, Jami74. It's like someone flicked a switch. The only other decent offer I got in the last year was Fluid (aside from existing accounts). Even that was only 9 months for 3%. Then I get six other cards at once, very strange!

Barclays did me a 3.3% MT for 20 months, then randomly have cut it down to 15 months now, BT is still the same at 3.1% 18 months

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Barclays just offered me £10k 14 month fee free BT after a void of eligibility. Very handy to clear some upcoming cards! Stoozing almost £40k now with cash in savings making on average 4.5%.

Sainsburys just offered 12 months 0% with 0% fees, first time I've had that offer with existing card

How often do Natwest maintain their offers, and do they change periodically? I have had 12 months interest free repeat for 2.9% fee, for the last 2 months. I would like to wait til next month to see if the interest free period improves (I would like it to straddle 2 tax years).

But do they tend to keep presenting offers month after month, or can they dry up? As an example, as long as I have statement activity, HSBC will ALWAYS offer me something, month after month. But are Natwest likely to be the same?

I keep getting 12 month 0% interest and £0 fee balance transfer cards, pretty much one after the other. I tend to have one or two on the go, pay them off and close them at the end of promotional period and start again a month or two later.

I just came on here to see if anyone had seen anything similar based on my experience yesterday, and it looks like people have.

Over the last year or so, probably due to having 9 credit cards already with 7 of them being 0% balance transfer cards which are 70-80% utilised, most mainstream lenders didn't want to touch me with the proverbial 10 foot pole!

I still used to check every couple of months anyway, and kept being politely told to "go away" or offered a 9 month BT's with 3.99% fees However, I did a quick search yesterday (I can't remember what compelled me to to be honest) but I saw that I was now pre-approved for the following 3 cards:

    Santander, 12 month 0% BT with 0% fee. - £9,600
    Virgin Money - 9 month, 0% with 0% fee - £14,500
    Natwest 12 month 0% with 0% fee - £16,000

I applied for all three yesterday, and it looks like all 3 have been accepted.Just waiting for the cards to arrive.

No idea what shifted in the industry in the last 2-3 weeks, but it looks like it's open doors again!
