Northern Rail Penalty Parking Notice

Hi,
I was issued a PPN of £50, completely my own fault. I paid for the parking on the RingGo App but have two cars and paid against the wrong vehicle. I appealed the ticket and gave proof that I had paid just against the wrong car, showing receipts etc. My appeal was unsuccessful and I have been told to pay or face possible legal action. Any advice? Should I pay or take my chance with a magistrate who may be a bit more pragmatic and empathetic than Northern Rail.

Pay is ASAP
There is often quite a few listings in various Magistrates court around South Yorkshire with them taking people to court.
There are probably on a Parr with Mersey rail for bylaw prosecutions3 -
All depends upon if this was a byelaw breach or notwith this being railway land its important not to name the driver, or attempt to guess as to who could have been the driver. For now wait for further replies from the regulars on here before making any rash decisions such as paying up ASAPHow much time do you have? From the Plain Language Commission:

I'd also say pay a Northern Rail penalty to avoid the stress & risk of a Magistrates' court case.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It may be worth asking on here to see what they say:although as per coupon mad it doesnt look good, personally i think there is something worng with the way that railway bylaws are chased up as shown in a news article from the summerIf you have time post on the railway forums site, and complain to your MP - if you can reference the BBC news article as in essence you are being persecuted for a simple mistake as you made payment for parking and assuming the payment was made to the railway companyIf you don't have time, then alas you may need to pay, but even still make as much noise about it as possible to your MP and anywhere else
