Parking Eye - mediation

Hi all,

I posted in here for the first time last year and you helped me win as DCB Legal discontinued.

I am now well into a battle v Parking Eye. We’ve been through the directions questionnaire stage & Parking Eye have sent me their defence. Last week I received an email informing me of the date for a mediation phone call that will last one hour. The mediator will speak to both parties.

Background

Signage was not clear at a private venue car park I parked at back in June. I was a paying customer at this venue but in terms of parking only realised this was a pay by meter car park when I got the fine in the post.

Parking Eye claim the signage was sufficient & said I should have paid by meter, contact the venue duty manager to organise a 12-hour permit, or pay at registration terminal at reception. Neither of these options nor the signage was clear and many of my colleagues also missed this signage, such was the low key nature of it.

Parking Eye note that I’ve used a generic defence template that is found on public forums & argue it’s not relevant to my case even though I specifically highlighted the poor signage in my defence.

Any advice on next steps would be much appreciated with the mediator phone call scheduled for early February. This also feels different to DCB Legal’s approach.

Thanks
