PCN - Donnington Manor Hotel, Sevenoaks

Options
I received a ticket in the post after stopping to charge my car at Donnington Manor Hotel, Sevonaks.   Apparently, there are signs to register your car in the hotel reception but unfortunately, I missed this.  The hotel staff confirmed that it is a really common mistake and the parking authority - Parkingeye no longer allow the hotel to void tickets for those charging their cars and not staying in the hotel since November 2024.

I charged for 30 minutes and apparently there are signs stating that parking is free for 15 minutes.   I clearly missed this and can't help but believe that these signs haven't been made for motorist to see.  The weather and time didn't help

Any experience from others being issued with the same or similar PCNs and successfully appealing?

ParkingEye are not a parking authority.

Why is the Hotel letting the tail wag the dog? They should sack ParkingEye as it's affecting the hotel's reputation. Get angry.

Try the Head office of the Hotel chain if there is one, and ask why they are in the habit of letting their agents (from a known rogue industry) drive away custom? Do genuine people - and their hotel's reputation locally - not matter to them?

    No paying it at all.

You could try a POPLA Appeal with evidence of no contractual signs near the EV bays.

Many thanks for this, much appreciated.  I have no idea why the hotel allows this.

Please also complain to your MP as well as the hotel CEO, that you received a parking charge notice whilst refuelling (charging an EV).
Post negative reviews on the hotel website and review sites such as Tripadvisor to warn other motorists.

Please also sigh the petition linked from this post and ask all your friends and family to do the same.

Get some photos of the EV bays with no ParkingEye signs evident (and a pic of the entrance sign too) and while you are there on site, pop in for a chat with the manager face to face and make him cancel it or you will be complaining about him to the chain's Head Office
