I am being billed £1310.34 for four months payments from September to December 2024 and I received a dept collectors letter from Capital Resolve and they added this to my credit score
However I am not with British Gas my energy providers are Octopus Energy since 15/06/2024
British Gas reference number given does not exist therefore I cannot contact the company
I want this company taken to court before I get bailiffs knocking at my door

Take British Gas to court, refund what is owed to me or I will sue them

Your only reply to the debt collectors should be to dispute the debt. Tell them they must refer the matter back to British Gas.
After that, don't engage with them at all. Keep repeating that the bill is in dispute.

If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
