Car Insurance Claim

My named driver scuffed the paintwork on a parked car 24/10/2024. The claim has not been settled and my insurance company are being very evasive. My insurance has come up for renewal, (extortionate price). Is there a time scale that legally this claims needs to be settled by?

Legally, a property claim can be brought up to 6 years in England and 5 in Scotland.1

What is the issue?
Its an at fault claim, so it being settled isn't going to change your quotes. You don't have to renew with the same insurer even if you have an open claim. Find the best quote (cheap is not always good) declaring the at fault accident and fo with that.0
