Looking for an electrician in Coventry who can look at our cooker fault

I'm looking to find a good electrician in the Coventry area because we need someone to look at our cooker (and possibly the consumer unit) as if we set the oven to 200 degrees C or higher, everything's fine until the oven reaches the selected temperature, but after that, all the electrics trip off. There's a similar problem with the grill, but it may be related.
When I check the consumer unit, the master RCD is showing in the "off" position - there's a separate one for the cooker, and it's the first one as you look to the left of the master ON/OFF switch.
However, when the trip happens, the cooker RCD should be tripped (shouldn't it?) but it's just the master one that's tripped, so we need someone to have a look at it.
I'm trying to find a local electrician from word of mouth since I have lost contact with people I could call.

You don't need an Electrician. You need a new cooker/elements. Granted you will need an Electrician to install, but the issue is not with your wiring.MothballsWallet said:I'm looking to find a good electrician in the Coventry area because we need someone to look at our cooker (and possibly the consumer unit) as if we set the oven to 200 degrees C or higher, everything's fine until the oven reaches the selected temperature, but after that, all the electrics trip off. And no, the circuit breaker shouldn't necessarily operate on an Earth fault instead of the RCCB. If it did then there wouldn't be a need for two separate devices. A neutral/Earth fault or high impedance phase/Earth fault wont operate the circuit breaker.2 -
Thanks for the advice - we contacted 2 electricians, the first said he could replace the oven element for about £120 (parts, labour, VAT included) and the second recommended replacing the cooker due to its age and the fact that the element replacement would cost up to half the cost of a new cooker, so we're looking at a replacement.Risteard said:
