Sound delay when gaming

I'm playing Rocksmith plus which is a game that enables you to play a guitar, bass or keyboards along to songs in the game library. The problem I'm having is the sound from the instrument, a bass guitar in my case is out of sync with the game, there's slight but noticeable delay between playing a note and the sound coming through the speakers, this was a known problem with the games consul version of Rocksmith 2014 which was fixed by using a separate sound system rather than your TV sound, I can't really do this with a PC, I'm running a mini sound bar connected to the headphone socked on the monitor, if I use the speaker output on the PC I get sound from my bass guitar but no sound from the game'

Gigabyte B550 Gaming Motherboard
Ryzen 7 5700G CPU
32gb 3200 DDR4 RAM
MSI GeForce RTX Ventus 2X 3060
Samsung monitor (can't remember model)

Is your monitor connected by HDMI, if so there should be an option in its menus to sync audio and video. (Probably by adding a delay to one or the other)
