UK and European Annual Travel Insurance

Hello
We have booked several holidays for 2025 starting from May. Two UK cottage weeks (May and July), then 2 weeks in Sardinia in Aug/Sept. I don’t usually get travel insurance for UK holidays but now that the cost of a week in a cottage has increased so much I am thinking it might be better to get an annual policy this year to cover all 3 trips.  Have just booked the flights for the Sardinia trip today so I am thinking I should probably take out the annual cover now - but I only get the option of European or Worldwide - so which one should I pick to cover the UK too?
Any advice/tips would be most helpful and gratefully received.

Have you checked to see if your bank account provided travel insurance with your account?  It can save a lot of money.  Most travel insurance does also cover UK holidays, generally has a minimum number of nights required.

The OP didn't specifically mention a bank account, maybe he/she is unaware that such a package deal is worth looking at for annual travel insurance, especially where there are several trips abroad in a calendar year.

My European annual one states conditions to be fulfilled for them to pay out on a UK trip. Something like a minimum period away from home. Think it covers mainly cancellations in event of illness preventing you from going..

That's why I mentioned it.  Although we have travel insurance available through our bank I hadn't considered it for a long time for a couple of reasons (1) it used to terminate at 65 and (2) when I did last try to take it out they wouldn't cover me at all because I'd had general anaesthetic within the previous 12 months.  At that time they seemed to be doing everything possible to avoid paying out.  I recently had a letter from them and discovered they now cover to age 80 and all but one of our medical conditions are on the list of those which don't have to be declared.  I ended up paying about £60 to include cover for a hip replacement.  3rd party insurance was coming out about £400 for myself and my wife.

We took out the Co-op Bank Rewards account at £15 monthly with cover to age 80, no surcharge for a few pre-existing conditions which surprised me.
They were happy to cover these as acceptable low risk, including my Hypertension which was only diagnosed when a cataract preop consultation identified it.
Having said that the medicos assured me that half the population had the same problem.
£180 for annual worldwide cover = no complaints.
