What a late start here. I'll get moving soon.10

Moved! Not too cold here this morning and the sunrise is just magnificent. My trip up to Boots was successful and I was back home in good time, not much traffic on the road. The rest of the day was spent being far too slothfully. Today could be the same.Hugs to all.10

I started off 2 minutes after you Gers ! I'll post on here since you were before me.
I'm late this morning after a disturbed night.
What a dreary morning it is - grey, heavy frost or is it light snow, and cold.
Went to the shops yesterday and that was my excitement for the day. I don't suppose today will be much different.
Still, we'll plod on.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to the sad and poorly people.
Take care folks, stay safe and warm.13 -
Morning GERS and all to follow. It's a bit of a misty/foggy start here but definitely not as cold as it has been. The weather must be building up to the promised 10 deg on Tuesday! Fingers are crossed it actually happens.
I actually went out yesterday! DS rang to see if I wanted to change Supermarket Sweep day from today. He knows I am being ultra careful in avoiding any broken limbs on the ice so he promised he would get me down the front steps in one piece and similarly upright along the icy pavement to his car by the main road! For good measure I dragged out my old Swiss snow boots from under the stairs. They have been hiding under there since their last wearing in a different life when we used to go winter snow walking and sledging in Switzerland. With the help of my trusty old boots and DS keeping me upright I got to the sm in one piece! Gosh both the sm and the carpark were very busy but we both got everything we needed and it was lovely to get out into civilisation again!
I have a bed making morning ahead. I ordered new electric blankets for the DGDs' beds and they were delivered yesterday. They don't sleep anywhere near as much as they used to but I thought it was time they got replaced in readiness for any sleepovers.. I washed all their bedding yesterday and that has dried nicely upstairs.
I have a bit of a mishmash for lunch. I cooked some chicken and cauli cheese for my tea yesterday and there is enough of each left over to add to some more veg and maybe af roasties for my lunch.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poodlies, sad or lonely. NAN you are having more than your share of health worries these days, thinking of you and hoping all goes well at your appointment xx

Morning All
Thanks for the starts Gers and Scarlet.
Not so cold this morning, the frost has gone but it's damp and uninviting out there. I didn't go out yesterday at all apart from filling the coal buckets, must do better today. In fact I really have to go out for supplies!
Housework done yesterday so it's all spic and span, bedding dried and put away, will put the rest of the washing away shortly.
Hope today is better for you Mehefin.
Hugs to you Nanny.
I'm off to the shower now before I venture out, hope you all have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all. A lighter frost outside today so that's a win.
First load of washing in the machine and I have two bags for the charity shop that might or might not get walked up today. Yesterday DH queued for 45mins in the pharmacy for his prescription; we now have just one chemist on the High St and they are overwhelmed with customers.
Went out for a lovely group meal last night and I managed to eat all three coursesToday we'll have a late Sunday roast and then I'm giving someone a lift to a music session early evening.
Take care all.

Sorry you had a bad night @Scarlet, it's always disturbing for the rest of the day.Congratuations to @TA for getting out, there and back in one piece. What a great DS. Funny how even a mundane trip to a SM can be invigorating.@Carolbee - where are you going? Somewhere sunny I hope.@Camelot - do you use coal more than logs? Is coal any better? What a nightmare @WL - that's not a good situation. We have always had two pharmacies (tiny wee main street) but now they are both owned by the same person. One seems to cater mainly to the older (than me) generation and has shelves of vitamins and beauty stuff whilst the other is mostly medicines and potions. After clearing out my pyjama drawer the other day today was the turn of two more - knicker/ bra drawer and tights drawer. Two unused but far too large bras are now in a bag along with two pairs of tights. They'll be going to the textile skip. The three bras I rotate in use are going that horrid grey shade so may be heading out too.The weather is definitely milder than even yesterday, fingers crossed for it remaining that way. I am really enjoying the clear star-filled skies but not the weather it brings.Take care everyone, especially our poodles and sads. It's not a great time of year to be either.9

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers and @ScarletRibbons x
I didn’t manage to get on yesterday. Busy day at WI craft sub-group, lunch with ex-neighbours then to DS1 and DILs en route home. Felt shattered last night and reminiscent of LBWM (life before we moved). Today DH is back at DS1s and I have a quiet day planned, will cook roast chicken later. We had a RTA outside our house last night. Youngish lad came around the (icy) corner and mounted the traffic island, taking out the bollard as he went. He couldn’t get off the island so DH played Worlds Strongest Man and helped lift the back of the car up and off.Hugs to you @mehefin - not easy taking care of the horses and the house by yourself. I’m glad you have a good network around you x
Hugs also to @nannywindow for the GP appointment x
Could DH have his prescription delivered instead @WickedLady4, save him queuing?CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings12
