DCBL debt recovery notice

Hey guys, i need your help.

In October last year I got a letter from G24LTD regarding parking longer than time allowed a sports direct car park The letter requested £60 if paid within 14 days.

On Saturday 26.10.24, I transferred £60 to G24LTD, the was money taken on Monday 28.10.24.

On 02.12.24, another letter came from G24LTD threatening legal actions if the fine is not paid. I called them and was informed by two different call receivers that they couldn’t find the parking charge reference number or my car registration.

I sent an email explaining that I have paid the amount, indicating the date it was paid and threatened to take my own legal actions if they don’t stop harassing me.

They replied, saying to appeal. I replied suggesting they send my email to the right desk for update and never heard from G24LTD again.

Then on 08.01.25 I got a letter from dcbl asking for £170 for unpaid parking charge.
They said I can’t appeal, my only options are to pay the amount within 14 days from the date on the letter or call them to discuss repayment.

“ This is not subject to High Court or bailiff action however, should you fail to contact us, we will recommend to our client the commencement of legal action against you”.

I spent that day trying to contact dcbl to no avail. I called them more than 5 times, they kept saying “ pay the amount,  hold for our agents, all our agents are busy or press the hash key for a call back.

I would held for almost an hour, twice, two different agents dropped the phone on me, pretending not to have heard me giving them the reference number.

Thrice I pressed for call back, held unto my phone, the phone won’t ring but phone alert will indicate a message asking me to call them back, till they closed for that day .

Please help, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Ignore the debt collectors,  dcbl, see post 4 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements

Come back to this thread if you receive a Letter of Claim,  possibly from Moorside Legal,  followed by a court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton

Stop - stopppp! - trying to ring what we and MPs would call 'outrageous scammers'.

Do nothing. By going confidently into the 'ignore' stance, the only steps to take are:

    - Tell them if you move house within 6 years.

    - Ignore the tedious £160/£170 threatograms shown in pictures in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.

    - Come back if you get a LBC as per the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread.  Probably from DCB Legal or Moorside Legal, whose claims are badly pleaded and the former firm always discontinue. Nobody pays a penny and no hearing is even needed in most cases.

Search the forum and read a few cases as they are easy to beat by waiting for a claim form - it is easier than appealing!

There is no risk AT ALL in defending a court claim. No CCJ. No bailiffs. Stop taking the bait.

    P.S.
I just noticed you sadly fell for the scam and (before coming here) have paid £60 that you never needed to pay. Oh no!  Please learn for next time. Nobody pays.  Why did you think it was a fine? It wasn't.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"......another letter came from G24LTD threatening legal actions if the fine is not paid".
Oh dear you fell into the trap that these scumbags set, their letters are carefully constructed to look threatening and official and being a little naive you fell for it and imagined what wasn't there. None of their signs or paperwork mention a "fine" if you look back, but their psychological twisting of the facts made you think it was.
They never say what you actually received which was an invoice.
Being an unregulated scam they won't care or investigate, and the so called debt collector will continue to threaten but once again read their letters carefully, the threats are hollow, you have no debt, and they aren't saying they will do anything they can't.
Follow the advice on here unfortunately you paid, you've lost that they would be spanked if they tried again in court.
