Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
I don't know if it's very heavy frost or a dusting of snow outside but it's certainly cold.
We aren't going out much at the moment with it being so cold, just to the supermarket when necessary, so life is quite boring at the moment! However I can usually find something to do round the house.
Hope everyone is all right and keeping warm, take care folks.14 -
Same here @Scarlet - not much going on whilst the weather is so inhospitable. I only ventured outdoors to bring in a bag of logs as I lit the woodburner early on.This morning I have to go back up to Oban to collect an item from Boots. I had planned to go to an history talk but it's been cancelled as the speaker is unwell. On the way back I may drop into the marina cafe for a breakfast roll if I time to right.Outside doesn't seem quite as cold today so I have hopes that it'll slowly start warming up. I hope that everyone is doing well and is warm. After @DP1 saying about her holiday to Marrakech I've got an image of it in my mind, can't get rid of it.13

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Day 7 of houseboundness looms.. Apparently normal life will resume on Tuesday when the thaw has started. I took a photo last Sunday of the back garden from the back window. I took another yesterday and it doesn't look much different! Never mind a rain dance I want a thaw dance.
The main road into town has been kept open but the side roads and pavements not so, making it impossible for the less agile to get to the main road. I am still well stocked with supplies it's just fresh fruit and veg that is dwindling. But I do keep a stock of tinned and frozen fruit, as well as frozen veg, for times like this.
Today's excitement will probably be some washing and, as I am now getting a bit bored, I may resume the sort out of stuff for the charity shop. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poodlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all.
-6 outside. Same here, not venturing out. DH doesn't mind this weather so is walking big dog.
Yesterday I braved it and we went to Lids to replenish supplies. I used my app and was very happy when we got home to see I've got a free cake, free vegetables and best of all a £10 voucher off my next shop. Made it worthwhile. Once we left the village the roads were very busy and there were lots of hold ups. I think everyone was using their cars as the pavements were so slippery.
Will find something to do today as there's lots of football on tv so DH will be watching that.
Keep warm and stay safe everyone, next week looks milder.10 -
V v cold here ,heavy frost again it didn’t completely clear yesterday .Foggy too .
I’d planned to rejoin Slimming World this morning at the 8 am session but it just too cold and I am still in bed .
my thermostat read 12.5 when I put the heating on and it’s taken2 hrs to warm up to 14.5 !
it was on most of the day yesterday and like most of us I’m dreading the bill
out later for coffee with friends and that will be it again ,
I never used to feel the cold

Thick frost here which looks very pretty but I’m quite ready for a thaw now.Bdog will need his winter coat on today after having a haircut yesterday - he’ll get a good run this morning with the advantage of no mud cos it’s all frozen. There’s a stack of outdoor jobs just waiting for better weather so in the meantime some chores may have to be done.Hope everyone stays safe and can get out soon
take care

Morning everyone another one that is fed up of this weather they have promised us a thaw on Monday I hope so because you can’t walk anywhere hubby has been giving me a lift to my cleaning jobs and back and yesterday I did my volunteering at the food waste I think that is the most I’ve walked in a week but it was bitterly cold unloading the van we usually have about 90 people come but it was down to 60 yesterday but they were saying they had struggled to get there it keeps brightening up here but there’s no warmth in the sun everything is still frozen solid I need to think about how to fill my day in today I’m sure I can find something to do stay safe and warm everyone Mehefin how are you coping with your horses I don’t envy you breaking the ice on water troughs. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, enjoy your breakfast roll.
Very, very cold here, there was a lovely pink and orange sunrise but that's gone now and it's a bit misty, wouldn't be surprised if we get some snow later today. The heating is on and I've just lit the fire, hopefully I'll warm up once I've been in the shower and re-made the bed.
Housework to do today and some shopping if it gets warmer otherwise I'll be staying in, plenty to do including sewing some buttons on the little one's new jumper. May start something else too.
Hope everyone is safe from the cold, don't go out unless you have to - better to be bored than injured.
Take care and have a good weekend. XX9 -
Morning all, thanks Gers.I don't blame people for staying in atm,it's a balmy -3 atm. TA , totally sympathise with you not going out, it's the same round here- I feel like i'm risking life and limb just walking up the footpath to school for DGS! , although I agree @AlwaysAllie it does look pretty
The pavements are treacherous, it is getting boring now
and we can't go for our walks which the physio wanted DH to do.
It's a bit easier now DH has started driving again, we called at the @sda down the road for a few things we were running out of. Today we'll call up to the retail park to collect a present I ordered for my DFriends 70th at the end of the month. We'll be watching the football on tv later too Remmie. Not sure about eating, getting a bit fed up of the freezer offerings now, but a big container of l.o turkey was made into a pie and enjoyed. I've still some pastry left so I can use up the frozen bramleys I chopped up over Cmas, and a few blueberries and make a pie for tomorrow.Just read my post back and it sounds a bit moany, sorry. It could be worse - I could be the BT engineer working at the top of the telegraph pole at the end of our cottages. I did notice the wires were heavy with snow the other day,it must have disconnected some of the neighbours.
Have a good day if you can and stay safe.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning all. I thought we had a white car parked outside this morning but it's just the frost making it change colour!
The cakes got made yesterday plus we did a little bit of sorting out and put some things back up in the loft. I'd got a couple of rolls of Christmas wrapping paper for 50p each in Waitrose so they've been tucked away.
We'll walk up into town in a little while and then tonight we're out for a group meal in Tring, so about an hour's drive for me. DH can enjoy a drink, seeing as it's his group of friends.
Can't wait for this weather to pass and we can get on with doing things.10
