ooh I cant think of anything...... actually Lift lemon tea. none of the others are as nice.
Interesting that several of you say the same things but none of them strike a chord with me.
I always said I wouldnt give up my gym membership as it was so vauable to me but when it came to the crunch it had to go.
  • Hi,
I fell asleep and when I woke up there were 41 replies!! :)

Having read your posts I can add stuff to my list - I never buy eggs that aren't free range (I feel sorry for the poor chickens as it is), coffee (although I've switched from 'real' capuccinos to sachet ones for the most part, toilet roll, soft drink and washing tablets (although I've found one works as well as two, so they last ages, and cheapo fabric softener is fine).

In the past I would've added chocolate to the list, but I started working next door to a Lidl and tried lots of their chocolate, and it's great. Their 'fake' mars bars and milky ways are especially good, so we buy those now instead.

I used to buy expensive toothpaste as well, but switched to colgate (buy one get one free) and even though I noticed the difference at first I adjusted to it over time and now it's fine.

I can't think what else - I am sure there are other things to add to the list. I buy new books most of the time but then I ebay them when I'm done if I don't particularly want to keep them. Same with DVD boxed sets. There are places to get htem too so they cost less, like play.com or amazon - shops like HMV are usually so overpriced on stuff like that.

Also, shoes - I find one good pair of ecco or clarks shoes lasts me for work etc, most of a yr, whereas cheaper shoes wouldn't last me anywhere near as long or fit as well.

Makeup - Max Factor - again, a tube of foundation would last me 6 months +, and I save in the long run buying it rather than buying cheap stuff.
  • Soft Drinks - Robinsons Lemon and Barley Water….the best refreshing drink in the whole Universe and a good way to get your daily intake of water. Their Orange barley water is also a good tasty squash drink too.

Hmm.. those drinks sound pretty nice. I might give them a go.
  • Makeup. Nothing beats Mac Studio Fix, Lancome Juicy Tubes, Max Factor Masterpiece and Urban Decay eyeshadows.

Hair cuts/colours. Tried trainees and cheaper salons but the end results weren't worth the saving.

Underwear. I have an odd bra size so would rather save up for Figleaves than get badly fitting numbers off the high street.

Would second that about MAC studio Fix - well worth it - Virgin's all in one face base is similar and a similar price.
We also only buy free range eggs. Pepsi coke and Robinsons Orange Barley as opposed to normal dilute orange.

We buy lots of books, most of which we keep for reference, except the novels which we sell on. Oh and OK magazine - its gone up to £2.50 now from £2 but thats my weekly fix of gossip!

HP Sauce - tried others but didn't like them'
Bread - rather do without than buy cheap loaves.
Coffee - tried other brands but didn't like them.

Always buy freerange eggs and mature cheddar cheese which is dearer than mild cheddar.
