I recently bought a second hand Ford Kuga from Evans Halshaw along with an extended (3 Year) warranty. Noticed a tapping sound when the engine was cold and took it back to get it checked out under the warranty, we were told that they agreed that there was a tapping sound but they couldn't do anything as they were closing down. They advised us to take it to Fords and were assured that Evans Halshaw would have to pay for it as it was within 3 months of purchase. The problem is that Fords have not confirmed to us that they are willing to co-operate with this. Now I cannot seem to get much sense out of Evans Halshaw, let alone an answer to phone calls or E-Mails. Any ideas as to what we should do next?0

It's quite common for engines to be a bit noisier when cold. Is the oil level good and when was it last changes? Is it a petrol or diesel?0
