Grill on Tricity Bendix electric cooker

Options
Hello

I have a Tricity Bendix SI 400 Bendix cooker with two ovens and a grill. Over the years I have had no trouble at all with the appliance, but earlier when grilling some meat, I noticed instances of flames coming from the grill element and going out after a few seconds.

I am not sure if I have seen this before. Can anyone advise if this is normal for an electric grill turned up quite high?

Thanks

Mr Carstairs.

It'll almost certainly be due to fat, or any other flammable foodstuff, which has spattered on to the element, and is now being burned off. Pretty normal, I'd have thought.
Not sure whether increasing the grilling distance might help? Maybe also see if the plate above the grill element can be cleaned?
  • @ThisIsWeird - You may be right in thinking it was some fat given that I was grilling lamb!

I have just run the grill in a passive mode without any food and it seems to be alright. However, I will keep an eye on things.
