Contacted LA about building regulations and think I’ve voided indemnity

Hey guys,
We were just about to have our house put on the market, but I foolishly made a mistake and contacted LA with my home address (stating that when we bought from prev. Owner we never got certification and we think the work *might* have been carried out a few years ago) - this is regarding door/window regulations.
I’m wondering if I’ve now voided the indemnity policy? I put my home address as the subject of the email, but they seemed to be asking a question and I didn’t state explicitly either that we didn’t have the correct regulations. (Just that I didn’t get certification from the previous owner, and think it was installed a few years ago + if they could come and inspect)

Have a few question…
A.) do you think I can still get indemnity insurance? I haven’t even spoken to a solicitor/bank yet

B.) can I ever get indemnity insurance on the property ever again? Even in a couple of years time?
C.) aside from doing the BC regs, is there any other possibility of me selling the house?
I know I’ve really messed up this time, but hope someone is able to give me some insight. Our property is well over 200 years old, so really afraid that even it won’t pass a complete building regs.

You're not giving us much to go on here - what's the "work"? How long ago did you buy and what was the advice then? How much longer than that do you think the work was done? Have the council answered your email?
Building regulations don't apply retrospectively, so no, you don't need to somehow make the original parts of a 200 year old property comply with current regulations.0 -
Of course no 200 year old property would comply with contemporary building regulations. In fact a 20 year old property is unlikely to comply with all current building regulations. This is not an issue. If you think the former owner did some significant modifications that would have needed building regulations approval - the issue is did this work comply with the regulations in place at the time. And was approval obtained.
What modifications do you think they carried out?

It reads like she meant doors and/or windows may have been replaced without any Building regs certification and they had an Indemnity Policy for that work when they bought the house. .0
