Ebay listings to start appearing on Facebook Marketplace in the USA

There is a test in the USA, France and Germany where Ebay listings are appearing on Facebook Marketplace. OK, it doesn't apply to the UK yet but what starts elsewhere usually ends up here. It's all free at the minute but I'm sure Ebay will find some way to monetize it.

Is this not just another form of advertising? Ebay have bought an advert space on FB and probably list some item where
the seller paid an additional fee?
Ebay will have charged the seller for that space and added their shiny penny to the bill but the seller may get a wider
coverage without trying to negotiate an advert slot with FB directly?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Could be that. It sounds like a curated list of items depending on "current trends and listing quality" (whatever that is) according to the link below.forgotmyname said:Is this not just another form of advertising? Ebay have bought an advert space on FB and probably list some item where

It looks FB were fined £850 million for being anti-competitive and FB are doing this rather than eBay paying for it.forgotmyname said:Is this not just another form of advertising? Ebay have bought an advert space on FB and probably list some item where

Given how many people on consumer rights buy from dodgy websites from FB and Instagram adverts, extra exposure on FB would likely be positive for eBay.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
