If he has no reason to think he'll need to go into a care home and he's not on benefits, then he can gift you what ever he likes without worrying about deprivation of assets.
If his estate is likely to exceed the inheritance tax limits then the gifts could still be added to his estate value if he died. People worry about this but most of them shouldn't. It's just designed to stop people giving away huge sums in order to avoid inheritance tax. If they want to give away huge sums they still can.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
