Halifax Reward Current Account question

I've always paid in £1500 from external accounts to each Reward account to be on a safe side. Is this necessary? Would internal transfers count towards £1500 requirement?

I send £3000 in to account #1, bounce £2500 to account #2, then £2000 to account #3, then £1500 back to where it came from, leaving £500 in each for a debit card transfer.allegro120 said:I've always paid in £1500 from external accounts to each Reward account to be on a safe side. Internal transfers are allowed.
I used to have a £1000 overdraft facility on one of my 3 Reward accounts so used that to satisfy the funding requirement.2 -
I used to do the same until I noticed from the Cashback Tracker this week that internal transfers count towards it.allegro120 said:I've always paid in £1500 from external accounts to each Reward account to be on a safe side. Have now changed my schedule of transfers accordingly 😀1 -
I wasn't aware of Cashback Tracker, now found it on the app named "Reward Extras Tracker". Is this the one? It says that I haven't paid the full amount this month. I have paid £1k on the 2nd January, which is showing. I topped it up to £1.5k on 7th January but the £500 is not showing. Is there normally a delay for Tracker to recognise a deposit?wiseonesomeofthetime said:

Yes, it's data is woefully stale. I completely disregard it

Yes, it's also completely inaccurate. Better to view a statement to get up to date ins and outs.Their app is by far the most bug ridden I've ever used.allegro120 said:

Yes, it can be 48/72 hours behind.allegro120 said:

Like others, I had not looked at it for over a year as it was always inaccurate, however, this week I took a glance at it purely because I have opened a third Halifax Reward account (finally).1 -
I didn't know you can have three, I'm sure it used to be two and didn't know the limit has changed. Only found out reading this forum and opened my third one this morning, which prompted me to post the question. I'm glad internal transfers count, makes it easier.wiseonesomeofthetime said:

Yes, I pay 1.5K into account one from an external account, instantly move to account 2 then to account 3. I then split the money into 3 £500 chunks and then send 500 x 3 to my old legacy account with YBS via debit card. Job done, £5 x3 paid into my accounts as my reward.allegro120 said:I've always paid in £1500 from external accounts to each Reward account to be on a safe side. Is this necessary? Would internal transfers count towards £1500 requirement?I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.1 -
The third account allowance changed about a year ago (or even more) because i remember telling a friend and she was trying to open a third over the phone- and they kept arguing with her! I had to quote the wording to her.
You get more interest (subject to tax rather than the £5 Reward) from BOS classic accounts with Vantage but for those accounts you need 2 x DDs paying out every month and £1000 pay in. Pretty sure it is the same interest as Club LloydsBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
