Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
There's a heavy frost again this morning, it's very cold.
There are no particular plans for today, but as usual there's plenty to do round the house. The garden is a bit untidy but it's frozen solid so can't even rake it over. It'll keep though.
Hope everyone has a good day, keep warm and safe folks.15 -
Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers.
It's another cold morning here. I'm meeting some friends this morning, so hope the roads are ok.
Hope everyone has a good day. x13 -
The temperature is reading -8 degrees outside and I have to go out this morning.
I'm having my ears suctioned so it's up to Oban I go. I'll have to defrost the car, a mixture of de-icer and windscreen heater, yesterday it took about 10 minutes of sitting outside, I think that it had been raining and then frozen. Not looked outside yet!
The cleaner did the ash vacuuming for my yesterday, put it all in a black bag and took it to my car, he was very kind so I rewarded him by 'off-loading' most of the chocolate / sweetie stuff I was given at Christmas - he was delighted! Then I took the ash away to the dump along with some textiles for the box and a bag of mostly pyjamas for the CS. After lunch I did two washes, one a cotton load and the other was a delicate load. This morning I'm holding back from lighting the woodburner as I'm going out in a couple of hours, I've got the air blade heater on instead to heat the room up. Very old stone cottages are not even remotely energy efficient.I hope that everyone is doing OK - not having to go out into the horrid weather. Stay safe and warm.12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. A rare event for me last night. I woke at 1.30 and thought here we go, another sleepless night, but amazingly I then slept until 6.30. But why do I always feel worse for sleeping longer?
So it's now Day 5 of same old same old. The frozen snow still piled high, bl^^dy cold, and another housebound day. I don't know whether we got down to the promised minus 11 deg but it was minus 7 when I woke up. We are forecast sun all day but as it's not going to get out of the minuses there will be no snow melt happening here.
The usual jobs await but first the dw needs emptying as I cba doing it last night. Not christened today's menu yet other than my lentil soup and a sandwich for lunch.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for the poodlies, sad or lonely. Take care if out in the snow and ice.xx ps CAMELOT that was good news for you yesterday, it could have been so much worse.

Still watching the wild fire coverage here in California. Most caused by the high winds we have had and power lines getting together with trees. Thousands burnt out. So far, quite a distance from me (30 miles or so). But my sister and her son are on either side of one of the fires (and their church is right on the edge of the fire evacuation area). Hopefully it will burn up into the hills instead. Nothing else on TV all day.
Roommate Di is in Nursing Home for a week or so, so I am trying to clean up in a hurry. But also have to get ready for the Library book sale a week from Friday. So going to be a busy and stressful week - along with a cat that has just been neutered and is not happy and a roommate who has been drunk most of the week. Plus two other roommates who are at odds with each other (they came in as friends). Urgh! And school classes (I am taking two) start up again next week. So January is being a very nervewracking time. This is the end of the Year of the Rat - maybe the Year of the Snake starting the 29th will be better. Just ignore any political things coming from Washington DC - they are all nuts (and divided between rats and snakes).
We would love to have some of your rain - just not too much. We have only had 1/16th of an inch since July. Okay, we will take any we can get even if it is too much. Stay warm and dry if you can.

It’s definitely a chilly one here.Gers - safe travels - deicing the car is one of my least favourite tasks. After meeting an ex colleague for coffee yesterday the rest of the day felt very unproductive as I was very tired for some reason.Going with DDad for his last physio session - will try and get him to drive as it’s a bit further to test that distance.I have some craft work I must do today so that will be the afternoon taken care of.Stay safe warm and upright everyone

WEE NANCY I was so pleased to see your post (even though life is a bit fraught for you) I knew you lived in California but didn't know where. I hope the fires keep their distance from you and you stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13

Morning all! Rubbish sleep which probably doesn't sound so bad waking up at half six but when you went to bed at half two...Although I did have a better sleep, I turned the mattress over yesterday and re did the bed properly and was far less achey turning over. Normally I have a bit of a scream, this time there was sharp intaking of breath and squeaking : Going to my sisters tomorrow fo Christmas, see my cousin and offload some Christmas cakes so that's my weekend sorted. Not planning going out today, I was going to but then I had a word with myself
Nothing much today, pobably more ROD and some washing. And some napping
camelot, good news that you now know what it is.. Gers, safe travels, I think de-icing the car ranks with jumping in a winter river but for far less timeNancy, hope they're ok and that you are too...Hve you thought about evicting some of your roomates? They sound a handful. Izzy, hope you can get out today, you did make me laugh about bouncing like you used to
Allie, good to know your dad is doing so well. Take care all, including poodles, more blankets needed...

Morning allWe had snow last night but it has all but disappeared this morning on the roads but still on the grass and car windscreens. Then you look at the news and see the devastation in California. Hope you and yours keep safe @weenancyinAmericaDusting, hoovering and floor washing this morning which will keep me warm until I put the heating on later. Apart from that I wish everyone a good day and hope the poodles are feeling better x13
