Unauthorised payments

In the month of december 2023 I found 6 payments on my bank statement that I knew nothing about. I had not authorised them or even recognised their names. I reported them to my bank and hoped I would be reimbursed, it came to over £100. I am a pensioner with only my state pension to live on, so £100 is a lot for me to lose. I was told I would be contacted, after a while I called the bank to ask what had happened and was told my claim had been declined, not told why. I have appealed and made a formal complaint, again told I would be contacted, still waiting. I havent lost my card, it is always in my purse, not a chance anyone else could use it, this is not the first time this has happened, I am losing trust in my bank as this has happened too many times. I do intend to change banks but I want to try and get this money back first. anyone else had anything like this ?

You've provided no details of the transactions. As a consequence no one can comment on how might they have occurred.1

Obviously with no knowledge about your case we can't help - but happened many times and you have your card? sorry to say it sounds like a family member could be involved, and I'm not being judgemental - it was done to my Dad.

I have had over £5k taken on my card just over a year ago. I got it refunded. Looks like the card details were sold by a scammer (probably an online retailer). Lots of US flights bought which were refunded to a different card. In the US they will refund to a different account (crazy but there you go).
But as said above, details on the type of transaction need to be known as scams tend to use the same sort of things where someone in your house (or visitor) using your card without your knowledge tend to be different types of retailer.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. Echo other people's comments that without any details no one can comment but would also ask how great your memory is of exactly what you bought over 12 months ago? Given it is in December was it possibly Xmas presents or such where you may be shopping in places you dont typically?0 -
