PCN Issued after wrong registration entered

I recently received a £100 PCN almost two weeks after parking at a location. When purchasing my ticket, I accidentally entered my old registration number out of habit, as I had recently put it on retention while preparing to sell my car.
I paid for my parking in cash and discarded the ticket the same day, as I didn’t anticipate any issues. While I don’t have direct evidence of payment, I’ve asked the parking company to check their system and CCTV for the old registration number that I mistakenly entered.
I’ve already submitted an appeal, explained the situation to them, and offered to pay an administrative fee to resolve the matter as it was an honest mistake.
What are the chances of my appeal being successful?

Hello and welcome.
To answer your question... slim to non-existent.
These companies only make money by drivers making mistakes.

You'll be offered settlement if you pay £20 because that's in the joke of their self serving 'Joint Code of Practice'.
You DO NOT have to pay a penny though. You can ignore them and simply defend a small claim if one arrives. We do that every day here, multiple times. Dead easy.
Which PPC?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There is no "discounted rate" it is a bribe to get low hanging fruit to pay up and shut up for a nice little earner for doing very little.Think of it this way, a private parking company supplies its "services" to the land owner for free and hopes as many drivers as possible make mistakes that's the way they make money. In this instance you paid the required fee, the landowner got paid for the service he offered, why should you pay any more? The PPC has devised a catch em all electronic timing device to make things easy and cheap to operate called ANPR (which is banned for use in authority car parks as it is unreliable) this is an unregulated free-for-all.But to help them with their scamming system you have to enter your details correctly even though you paid the full fee.It is quite easy for them to find your entry of the wrong VRN as it won't tie up with the ANPR records and this is called a major keying error for which their joint COP from their ATA states a £20 admin fee is appropriate.Remember you only have a speculative invoice from chancers, it's up to you which way you fight it, it isn't a fine the appeals process is a scam to make it look like one, you don't get an extra fee and an appeal if you buy a TV from John Lewis and take it out through the wrong door!F.3 Appeals where the charge should be reduced to £20 for a period of
14 daysa) where the driver has paid the tariff but made a major keying error when registering their
vehicle for example, letters wrong or missing; characters swapped; motorist entered the
wrong car registration (e.g. their previous car or another vehicle from their household)
