Hi there so we were on the tracker dec 23 version which ended and i was not sure what to do, so after Christmas changed to dec 24 version

And so far prices have been above the standard rate.

Seems this will keep being the case. Befire prices werenalways lower than standard but it seems not tracker prices are no longer cheaper even the gas prices have been over standard has anyone else gone tona fixed rate as the quote i got when shows price per unit of electricity is cheaper than most of the days since we switched to new tracker

Thinking of going to fixed 14 month

I use the fixed rate tariffs.  They have no exit fees so you can change if the price goes down.

I fixed my gas to Dec 24 (now gone) from Dec 23 it took effect today. Rate is 5.74/29.38sc.
    Today Dec 23 is 5.94 and Oct 24 6.39 . I believe Jan 24 v 2 is 6.13.

    I fixed, jumping from Dec 23 tracker to a 5.74p /kWh fix.

So far it's been worth it as Dec 24 tracker has been above 6p every day so far I think.
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

I emailed to fix my gas on 02 Jan at about 9pm, to the December 24 v1 tariff.

They honoured it, after a few emails pointing out that their online system of switching a single fuel tariff, wasn't working while that tariff was still available. (I sent screenshots).

Tariff was pulled on 3rd Jan.

I'm undecided about my Electric Tracker. I have solar panels, so I'm not a big user (900kw per year), but no battery, and I don't think I cba with Agile. Inertia has set in. Ugh. I said in my email to leave my electric on Tracker for now, but whether that continues after mid Feb who knows... shrugs shoulders.

    Shall ponder it in Feb.

Concluded a drawn out email exchange, and got conformation today that I'll be switched to the Dec-24 v1 tariff on the 21st. Every time I tried to access the rates via the web site, it threw a wobbly and spat out a cryptic error code.

I switched to EDF's fixed tariff with zero exit fees because I can't see things improving taking the latest Tracker tariff into account and it worked out cheaper for me compared to Octopus's current fix. We're approaching the point now with recent wholesale gas prices that never mind sub 6p fixes, sub price cap fixes are disappearing. Unfortunately the time to fix was two weeks ago.

How good is your crystal balls ?
Looks like bot gas & electricity prices are dropping back, but there may be a few more peaks to come before the spring weather kicks in.
