Hi. My mum recently passed away. She told me and my brothers of a life insurance policy. We can’t find any documentation of this either physically or digitally. Is there a way to find her policy. Many thanks Damian

Sorry for your loss.
How have payments been made to cover the premiums? Any clues on her bank statements?0 -
No can’t see anything on her back statements or online. We are starting to think she paid the policy in full0

Life polices are typically paid monthly by direct debit. Some very old industrial branch policies (often known as penny policies in the past) may have had such small amounts that the insurer stopped collecting the policies but retained the few hundred pounds sum assured that they would pay out on death.
Many of these policies had an investment element and would give an annual statement. However, some had no investment element and would not. So, they would be reliant on the individual's record keeping.

I'll probably be kicked off for posting this but it may help you in your search. https://www.moneysupermarket.com/life-insurance/policy-finder/MSE may have similar information but it didn't come up in an internet search.
