Private medical insurance with Vitality - joint or separate??

I can't decide which way to go with this. Not much difference in premiums but the points required for a joint policy to earn rewards is significantly lower than two individuals would need to earn in separate policies.
But then it's statistically more likely that one of you won't manage the activity thresholds every month.
Plus does it protect your no claims status better to have separate policies? My partner has a chronic illness which I know wouldn't be covered anyway but might make him more susceptible to other health issues than me so perhaps longer term it's cheaper to keep them apart?
Would really appreciate any thoughts.
