Morning all. It's dry and fairly bright out there but cold, very cold and icy underfoot. Not much chance of the snow shifting soon as today's temperatures are set to be highs of 0 C daytime and -9 C overnight. Much as I'd like to get out, it's not happening just yet.
As planned, yesterday I cleaned the doors and sides of the wall units in the kitchen and will do the base units today. I thought I'd get them all done in one day but, as usual, I under-estimated how long it would take - one of the perils of getting older I suppose!
There was a surprise in my Inbox this morning - a £5 voucher from the SM by way of compensation for the delivery that was cancelled yesterday. That will do nicely towards a Low Spend January, thank you.
Stay safe and warm; for those with snow/ice take care if you're going out; hugs where needed. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all, I had another coughy night, I'm obviously trying to fight off some sort of lurgy so not a happy bunny. I can't remember the last time I had something like this.
Its so cold this morning and only -1 now, but it will reach the height of 1 today and we have more snow forecast too ! That's nothing compared to TA's - 11 🥶 A brass monkey comes to mind 🙉
I had to throw my dressing gown in the wm yesterday as I tipped some of my cup of tea over it but now it's so fluffy and warm this morning, I didn't want to take it off 😁. All the other washing and the bedding done should be dry this morning so I'll put that away then it'll be sofa time under my blanket reading or TV watching. There is plenty of housework stuff to do if I feel inclined.
I made a beef casserole with bits and bobs found in the freezer which went down a treat yesterday with some fresh bread and there's enough left for today too, so that's tea sorted.
Stay safe, warm and indoors if you can. Hugs to all fellow poorly people. Have a good day whatever you have planned.

Morning all, weather is brass monkeys here too , -2 apparently, so the fire is on and I am not going out because there are snow flurries forecast. There's nothing pressing to do outside anyway, I replaced the two handles on my spade and shovel yesterday [ finally!] so today I'm just going to ROD potter and try and consolidate like with like and see what the end result is...I made a spicy parsnip soup yesterday from fridge stuff and cupboard stuff so there's that for lunch and supper will be something from the freezer I imagine. There's some mash, and some beef in the freezer, polpette here I come...they're good to snack on and at least OH will eat something.Gers, well done on adapting and overcoming! The last time I drove in snow I watched a BMW attempt to accelerate past someone else and then go wheel spinning round the road because they had obviously not driven in snow before...I was entertained as I chugged along. I do remember driving up the hill past my autnies house so slowly that someone on foot overtook me. It is a steep hill though. Anyway, enough waffle, stay safe, stay warm!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Morning everyone it’s freezing here but we have had no more snow but it’s so icy you can’t walk anywhere and there will be no thaw for a while I’m having a think about going to do my volunteering on Friday if the paths haven’t been gritted and cleared then it’s definitely a no I’m not risking breaking any bones it’s not often I miss so we shall see I don’t like to let them down but I don’t bounce like I used to . I baked a few pies and scones yesterday I must have the cleanest house in the county I haven’t a clue what I’m going to do today I might stick my head in a few cupboards and drawers to see what I can come up with it doesn’t suit me stuck in the house all day I’m fed up now although I’ve been and done a couple of cleaning jobs this week I definitely need some warmer weather and a good walk out . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs for those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Afternoon All
Late one from me, I've been trying to post all day but work keeps stopping me!
Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday - I have gallstones - 3 quite big ones. I was actually very relieved that's what it is, could be so much worse but will have to wait a couple of weeks for the images to be sent to my GP then I'll see what's to happen.
Very cold here today and the temperature is due to plummet this evening, I've left the heating on low all day today as it was 12 degrees inside when I got home yesterday.
Sounds like you had an interesting trip out with your Dad Nanny!
Glad your SIL has put on a little weight Coxy.
Oh Gers, that's my kind of nightmare, glad you're ok.
Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care. XX
