Nightmare! Oak North & Coventry BS funds transfer issues - now neither will give me my money

I think you are being harsh on Oak North. This problem is entirely of the OPs making. Oak North will only receive funds from and send funds to a nominated account. The OP has sent funds from a different account to the one the OP nominated. Oak North are quite rightly not allowing those funds to be accepted and want to send them back to Coventry.
But the Coventry account had closed and couldn't accept the funds, and Oak North's initial responses amounted to, "oh... well your money remains in our holding account, so we'll just... um... yeah...". Just because customers make mistakes, it doesn't mean regulated providers can withhold customer funds (over £50K in this instance) whilst offering no further assistance whatsoever.
