Ah right thats interesting about the channels. As this problem only started christmas day i wondered if the boy next door had some remote controlled car for christmas or something. yesterday we did change channels for about 30 mins until the connection came up again.
Can we find out what channels the others are on then?

If the channel information is not displayed when you see other networks on your system, NetStumbler here displays channel info e.g.

Yep, use Network Stumbler. It will list all available wireless signals including whether they are encrypted, signal to noise ratios and more, which is nice.

Quick question - what are the product names/numbers of your belkin router and the adsl modem?

I'm sorry, but I have to be a pain and ask more questions.

What operating systems are PC1, PC2 and the laptop running? (XP Home or XP Pro?)
Did you disable NAT on the Belkin device to put it into "Access Point" mode?
Is the Linksys router this one here?
Do you have the manuals for the router and the modem?

Which PC did you use NetStumbler on? If it was your laptop PC2, can you give more details - make/model? WiFi built-in or adaptor type?
