I have a similar problem. I moved into a new build council property, downsizing from a 2 bed to a 1 bed. The flat I am in now is all electric. I have calculated how much my electric is by having paper and pen near the meter. I added £20.00 on the 31/01/24. Checked just now 06/01/24 and I have £1.73 left. So that is £19.00 in 6 days. I do worry about how I am going to cope when I finally retire from work, what can I do though, it is unlikely that I would be able to move.0

£3 a day during a cold snap really isn't that much!

I have a bungalow with 4 storage heaters in use and I'm using just over £7 or 55KWh a day at the moment during this cold snap, whereas I'd normally be using around £5 a day.0

My house averages £1.66 + 62p per day electric and that is with gas heating, gas was £6 + 32p yesterday. £3 seems pretty insignificant really especially as that includes SC. All electric will likely be dearer than gas but I can't see a problem here.

Mine for a one bedroom bungalow, with three Dimplex Quantums was £122.72 (£17.98 of that was Standing Charge) for December. I know I could get this down if I did not have a large water tank for my shower running off the bath taps, rather than a stand alone proper shower unit. My fingers are crossed that my H/A might be doing my bathroom this year. I run my heaters as "out all day", so two hours morning and four hours in the evenings at 20C. I live in the South East (London Borough) so granted, probably not as cold as some areas of the country.Paddle No 21:wave:0
