Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It seems quiet and dry here, what a change from the weekend.
It's hairdo day today, that's all that's happening really. We'll go to the quiz tonight as well.
Hope everyone has a good day, and the poodles are feeling better.
Take care folks.13 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope your weather isn't too bad. Cold here but not much of a frost although I'm sure there's ice on the car so will have to deal with that.
I was back at work yesterday and it was quite busy, nice to see everyone and be back into some sort of routine.
I have an ultrasound scan this morning for my sore tummy, haven't been able to have a drink or anything to eat. Eating first thing doesn't bother me but I do like copious amounts of peppermint tea to get me going so am struggling a bit. I had a letter over the weekend asking me to phone for an appointment and got one for this morning which was good and it's at a hospital close to work so that's a bonus, I'll go in for an hour and then pop along.
dp1 - Some friends went to Marrakech in November and stayed in a Riad with a little pool and DD and family had an all inclusive week at a hotel with water parks at the end of November. Both parties really enjoyed it and had a great time. The little one was the star attraction as she is blond!
Hope everything goes ok with the optician Nanny!
Keep going Mehefin, you're doing a grand job.
Hope the poorlies and sads are on the mend, take care. XX16 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Good luck CAMELOT I hope the scan goes well.
Can it get much colder, each morning is colder than the day before. The snow from the w/e is still out there, frozen solid and looking deadly underfoot. DD has just texted that the girls' school is shut again. DS called after work yesterday to clear all the snow from my front steps in case I need to go out anywhere. After much postponement thanks to my lurgy and then Xmas and New Year DF and I had planned to finally get back to our Tuesday lunch meets this week, only for the weather to scupper our plans! Maybe next Tuesday!
So it's another housebound day, I'm not risking crashing down and breaking a leg on the ice! The hospitals are busy enough. .I am unsteady enough when there's no ice to contend with! I am currently psyching myself up to make a dash out to the garage to grab some chicken to manifest into something for my tea. And I want to make soup for my forthcoming lunches. I think after much indecision I have settled on Lentil.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poodlies, sad or lonely. SNOOZER I hope all went well for Laura and similarly NAN with dad's appointment. I hope no tale of woe from you today! Take care all, be safe and keep warm x

Hi all
Well after yesterday’s unexpected extra snow it’s nice to see the grass again.Thankfully our very kind neighbours knew that DMum needed to go to the Dr yesterday and texted me early in to say they’d help clear the drive. It was all done relatively quickly.I need to post some orders at the PO so will have a longer walk along the canal which is one of the less muddy routes at the moment. Made some soup with all the fridge leftovers yesterday so that’ll do for lunch or dinner.Lots of other work that I need to get done as well so that will occupy my afternoon.Best wishes to all

Morning all
Still no snow here 🙄 but bitterly cold with a sharp frost I have put the heating back on for another blast to warm the house through I can’t have my guests getting cold, I have three people coming today all being well I’m not sure what we are doing yet will see what they fancy, I had a call from robs mum last night after I had gone to bed asking me what I intend to do about keeping him warm today um I don’t know maybe if you provided him with a good winter coat with a woolly hat gloves and boots that would help ! I do have all those things here for him that I have bought or hand me down from us but this is what she needs to be buying! Rant over she just makes me cross sometimes.
Dinner tonight will be sausage and mash with some onion gravy nice and comforting on a cold day, I need to run the hoover round this morning and put a wash on.
Snoozer I hope all went well with Laura xx
Camelot good luck with the scan xx
Stay cosy and warm to everyone xx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
The sun is trying to come out here this morning and it looks like being a nice day, if cold, although I'm going nowhere.
Hope everyone has a good day. xx9 -
Good morning.
Cold this morning but dry. Yesterday due to the snow and rain our village was totally cut off. All roads impassable and vehicles abandoned. We're retired but no fun for those having to get to work. Also there was an accident on a nearby A road which closed it, a neighbour was sitting in traffic for 5 hours trying to get home. My thoughts go out to those involved.
After the excitement of big dogs manicure (or should that be dogicure) no plans for today. I'm making a steak and kidney pie for dinner, that'll do us for two nights.
Camelot, hope the scan goes well.
Take care all, stay safe and warm.10 -
Morning again - I've been rooting through my woolly jumper drawer for something 'else' to wear. Somehow I've slipped into wearing the same clothes (apart from undies) every day for weeks. That's the trouble with not working, cold weather and not being overly mobile or even sociable. My rooting brought up lots of lovely forgotten and unworn jumpers of varying degrees of warmth so I had to sort out the drawer too. Now I'm cosy again.Yesterday an OpenReach engineer turned up. He'd repaired / replaced a joint on the outside line and wanted to check my phone line with his testing equipment. He found another fault so did what he had to to sort that. My house is the very last one on the exchange and still on copper - no hope of fibre here for many years. My BT stuff is now doubly repaired!Last night I really enjoyed the Junior GBBO, what great children, they had such a lovely mixture of heaps of confidence and fear of failure. And such wonderful results too. After that I watched Silent Witness on mute as I can't bear the almost constant eerie music, an hour of tension building is too much for my nerves.@Scarlet - happy haircut. @Camelot - I hope all goes well for you this morning, with a bit of luck you'll be in and out in a flash (if you can find a parking space). What kind neighbours you have @AA. And how kind of you @Ruby to keep a warm set of outdoor wear for Rob, what an odd mother he has! This morning I'm meeting a couple of acquaintances to talk through a couple of things about the volunteer work we do. Apart from that my day is my own.I hope that all those with problems and worries have a better day.11

Good morning all
Thank you for the start @Gers
It's bright and sunny but so cold and frosty.
Plan for today is to have a walk a bit later.
I'll cook two jacket potatoes, one for today the other for tomorrow. I have lots of toppings so will decide what I fancy later.
@camelot1001 hope the scan goes well
@RedRuby1231 poor Rob, good job he's got you looking out for him.
@TravellingAbuela don't blame you, stay warm and safe
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Glad your BT is doubly checked. I did laugh at the photo you put up. Sadly the day ran away from me so maybe K&K next week.We food shopped and did a tip run yesterday (the glamour) but also stopped by Dune!m for some home bits and did a white wash.It was “use up the festive cheese”’pizzas last night using garlic bread bases. Stinky but delicious.I hope Laura’s op went okay @snoozer x
Hope all goes well today @camelot1001
Good job Rob has you @RedRuby1231 x
Steady as you go @TravellingAbuela please!
